Hi Friends!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  It is looking like rain every day this week in WNC, so you may need to send the ark for me soon!  Honestly, I shouldn't complain, but the rain gets to me after so many days.  I could never live in a place like Seattle where it rains more than there is sunshine.  Something about the sun just makes things better even on bad days.  Am I right?

Anyway, this week on the blog I wanted to share different ways to style a faux leather skirt.  When I am shopping for items, I typically try to have a minimum of 2-3 ways to wear them because I love versatility and I always try to look like I never wear the same outfit twice. That definitely doesn't happen, but I try to make it look that way nonetheless.

The thing I love about a faux leather skirt is that it can look edgy or chic.  You can look work appropriate or make it fun and flirty.  Changing your top and shoes with this skirt can make a huge change in the appearance of it.

Look 1:  You can never go wrong with a graphic tee.  This one I have had for a while, but you could also pair it with a fun band tee for a super edgy look.  I wore it with booties, but you could use tall boots too.  I have the regular version of this skirt because the petite was sold out, so for me, the skirt was not quite short enough to pair with my tall boots.

Look 2:  A simple black and white gingham or buffalo check top is always a good idea.  And really, any black and white top is cute with leather.  I made it more fun by adding red heels and red jewelry because I always love a pop of color when I wear black and white.  I think it makes more of a statement.

Look 3:  This look is by far my favorite for work.  I am slightly obsessed with animal prints still and leopard is my favorite.  I love the chic and fun way it looks with the skirt.  I have to dress up every day for work so I try to make it as fun as possible.  I paired it with basic black pumps that aren't super high, but still give me the heel I love.

Look 4:  Chambray is another one of my favorites.  I love it paired with black and this top is especially fun with the feminine lace detail on the back. I can't find this exact top in stock, but I have linked some other options I love too.  As I told you earlier, I love leopard and I thought just the pop on my shoes made this look a little "extra" while still being work appropriate or fun for a night out.

Look 5:  You can never really go wrong with a monochromatic look in my opinion.  I just paired the faux leather skirt with a black tank, black faux leather jacket and black leather ankle strap heels.  I added this cute polka dot scarf for just a little bit of color, but still being neutral.  For the record, I also think polka dots are a cute way to add some interest to an outfit and I think they will be very trendy this Spring.  I had it tied around my neck for a fun retro vibe in one of my photos, but all of my pictures from this session except these five were lost when my SD card broke.  :(  But I am so glad I was able to salvage these to share!

I have linked items under each photo for easy shopping and all the items are linked at the bottom as well.  Do you have a favorite look?  Comment and tell me which one you love the most!  And tell me if you love faux leather as much as I do.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I appreciate you all more than you know!

  2. That's a cute skirt and you wear it so well each way, but I think the leopard print is my favourite outfit, so trendy at the moment! :)

Hope that your weekend is off to a great start! The cyclone that may have impacted us has moved further offshore which is good news, but we will still have a quiet weekend in case it comes back!
